Unhappy Headlight Problem

2001 IS

Sometimes my left headlight goes on and sometimes it doesn't. Its totally random. I haven't noticed it turning on or off during the drive, so it doesn't seem like a short that happens with a bump of the wires. Its usually every couple of days that this happens. The day time running lights and high beams are not effected at all.

Someone please throw me some knowledge!!

Thanks

Its the bulbs. There are many threads about this already!!

Just replace the bulbs, and you should be good.
Is this just the left bulb? You can switch the bulbs, and see if it still happens to the left side. If it happens to the right side, then its the bulb. If it still happens to the left side, then its the ballast.
Thats a cheap way of doing a diagnostic, yourself

So i switched the bulbs (that right hand side is so freakin hard to take the bulb out, its a tight spot with not room to work with) both lights turned on, so i switched them back and then went in my house for the afternoon. I left tonight to go eat, and they were working fine. I ate dinner then left to come home and the light was out again. So do you think its not the bulb? How much does it cost to replace the ballast?

thanks!
