On my es300 i had previously i installed the ipod adapter into the alpine deck. this time i wanted to keep the functionality and audio quality of the stock system, but i really missed having my ipod library available.

Well i found an SLI v4.38 on ebay for a really good price that i couldnt pass up. Yesterday i went to task working on installing it. after following the instructions on my.is forum i figured out that the unit had to be in cd changer emulation mode. i reassembled eveything and went to engadge my audio system.....cd's somehow jammed so it wouldnt access the ipod correctly. after another bout of googling my cd changer error. i disassembled the radio and removed the 7 cd's....lol yeah i said 7. guess thats why i was having problems with one of the cd's always skipping. Anyways....im up and running and loving the interface of the vais unit. I do wish could get text on the screen. but its not a big deal.

if you get a chance and you want an ipod on your stock system, i would highly recommend one of the vais technology sli units. works great.

*install tip. there is space under the dash tray(the one with the ac vents) for the entire brain of the system. plus its easy to run the ipod interface cable into the glove compartment.

true, but they have navi, I dont. but i do have a great sounding ipod hooked up.

 

I wanted the Vias but I settled with getting the less expensive GROM unit... works well too. Good to see another Vias success story lol
