Default 19x8.5 With a +38 offset ???

Ok.. I searched around and i got a bunch of different answers!!! So i wanna know what you guys think?? Will 19x8.5 with a +38 offset fit on my stock IS300??? I've heard yes, i've heard no, i even heard "i dont want to even get into that!!" And thats coming from a rim shop... So can anyone help me out?

personally i say no. my friend has 8 +39 and it's pretty much to the edge already (i think he had to roll a bit as well). yours is about 1/4" more outboard. sounds scary to me
