Default My Car Not Going Into Park...help Help

MY CAR DOESNT GO INTO PARK PLEASE HELP ANYONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM PLEASE GET BACK AT ME ASAP LET ME KNO HOW U FIXED THE PROBLEM THANX.......

01' is 300 lexus

i cant start the car in park i have to start in neutral but when car is on the car wont go into park it would go

into the slot but it would be in reverse and thats whats shown on the dash.......

ok...first off...

welcome.

scond...dont yell.

3rd. we need more info, what exactly isnt the car doing? is it making any odd noises? or is the shifter stalk just slack when you put it in P?

yes hi sorry bout that.....

the shifter goes into park but when i put it in park the car is in reverse and on the dash it shows the car in reverse what to do...

01 is 300 auto

try locking and unlocking the transmission shifter.

Theres a slotted tab that covers a keyhole next to the shifter.. pop that off and put your key in there and lock it and unlocki it a few time s and see if you can get the shifter into Park.

Also try tapping the brake pedal lightly. You should hear a faint "click" or "tap" as the brake-shifter interlock switch opens up to allow the lever to go either in or out of park. If you don't hear or feel the interlock release working, have the dealer check out the linkage...it may be bent or not working correctly.
Did you hit any road debris lately? That could have bent something underneath.

man...... this sux.... never heard about this before. maybe you can just call up lexus and ask them to tow your car to dealership to have it checked out?

thanx alot fellas for your help i really appreciate it i didnt try what u guys said yet but i am and if that dont solve the problem imma take it to the dealer..... thanx again fellas thanx much.............
