And I mean broke. It was ran over who knows how many times in the middle of a road. I was able to save basically the whole key. I have the metal cut key and the circuit board. One of the buttons, lock I believe, can still be pressed and because why not I threw a battery in but of course no luck. I’ve read up on chip/transponder keys, key codes all that but I still can’t figure something out.
It’s the chip inside the fob correct that’s linked specifically to my car? So would I be able to reprogram a new one and just replace my key with the uncut key?
Also, how would I go about reprogramming this new fob with out any working master key? (I’m not able to drive/start my car) I’ve read something about an OBD scanner.. I do have one of those, Is that possible?
Also, while looking for replacement fobs I’ve noticed that none of those circuit boards look quite like mine. Is this normal?
I have a 2001 LS430
