My 450h is back from service…and…and.. (update, replacement?)
I really hate to hear this. Was hoping your issues had finally been successfully resolved. I refused delivery of mine because none of the tech was working because car was “stuck in shipping mode”. I agreed to return and purchase when this was sorted out. A week later they still can’t figure it out. Based off your experience combined with mine and I’m done. I still need to purchase but it won’t be an NX.
Thanks AWR. But do not even dignify the judgmental, unfounded, stupid remarks from “midcow.” Surely some denial, defensive mechanism at work for this troll.
As a sidebar, I’m a car guy…coming from a Porsche Macan…and a 2020 740i (currently in my garage). Those are more complicated vehicles, to say the least. I’ve had no issues with them, thank you very much.

Hate to hear your experience but thankful your feedback may save me the same issues. I’m back to test driving. Thinking I may be leaning toward a Lincoln at this point.
Beyond stupid, it’s hurtful and insulting. Haven’t I gone through enough with this vehicle? And haven’t I been at least somewhat helpful to other prospective buyers? An apology for the “midcow” rant is in order.
Punishing to own this vehicle. All settings are repeatedly lost, including seat positions and stations.

Yup, I agree. If the person didn't believed in the car, they wouldn't put such a huge amount into it.
The empathy towards new buyers who are enduring such issues will greatly help people who are waiting in line to get the same car.
The more we voice out the problems the faster it'll get fixed. It's necessary for both manufacturer and consumer.

I would like to share an “opinion” here. I have been following this discussion/issue with great interest since there is a great deal of speculation that this infotainment system will come to all future generations of Lexus vehicles. I cannot comment on the angst this has caused but have no doubt it is very real. Having recently retired from a career in the tech industry, I can say that new software releases inevitably come with bugs. The worst of those bugs are almost always squashed by the first major update. This appears to be the most complex software that Lexus has created yet, so it doesn’t surprise me that it still has some bugs. I don’t even consider software completed until at least the first major patch or service pack. Three Lexus vehicles I have owned have seen patches come out to correct bugs with the infotainment software, in some case bugs that didn’t actually impact me due to the way I had my system configured (no unique key assignments for example).
My point is merely that I would expect Lexus to get this corrected in time. The challenge may be in deciding how much time is appropriate. Software patches usually take at least a few months in my experience. I’m just saying, don’t give up hope if they don’t have an immediate resolution. Cars today have very complex operating systems and the fact that this initial release of a brand new design has a few bugs unfortunately does not surprise me. I am not trying to make excuses for Lexus, rather just trying to be pragmatic.

Well stated, both Technut and Ratheesh. As I said earlier, “I love this car, I hate this car.” My NX450h drives incredibly well…plus it is such a perfect physical fit. It’s also rather satisfying to see “99.9 mpg” up on the screen for the past few hundred miles. All I’d need would be an assurance from Lexus that a fix is on its way. My NX goes in once again later today. I’ve shared some videos with the technician.
Thanks for your support.

Do you have any experience with RAV4 Prime? Which would you recommend?
Yes….I’m very familiar with the RAV Prime. Excellent for what it is….well differentiated from the NX450h. I’ve spent quite a bit of time driving one. I found no issues. In the absence of ML sound availability in the NX450h, the JBL sound option in the Prime…is an excellent choice. Other than that…and the $15,000 less MSRP, the NX wins big.

Thx Geo…. I’d be willing to go with it for a few months. It’s joyful, actually. My issue is retention of settings…phone…texting. I do a lot of driving and my business keeps me in steady communication. As such, my needs, while driving safely, are not even nearly being met. Someone critiqued me because my needs were so “first world.” Correct. Yes. This is the world we are living in….although I do wonder lately.
