Default Timing belt

Hi,

I just bought a 2008 RX400h with 90K miles on it, very happy. My question is simple, "Has anyone ever witnessed a timing belt failure on an RX400h"? Thanks, Louis

At 12 years old and 90k miles you're gambling. Spend $750 now to save a potential $5k new engine later? I wouldn't take that risk, personally, but you may be a gambler.

I have not personally had a camera recording a snapping timing belt, but I have seen a 3MZ-FE (the engine in your RXh) with a snapped timing belt.

Any idea of the mileage and years on the belt that snapped? Thanks, Louis
