Hey guys, need some assistance here. I’ve looked and I cannot find any info.

My low beam is out and I’m trying to replace the bulb. This is for a 2016 IS300 base.

Ive taken apart the bumper and remove the headlight. I cannot seem to find where the hell the bulb is inserted! I’ve never had this much trouble replacing a freaking bulb!

please help! Are these things even replaceable??

 

If you have the LED headlights the bulbs are not replaceable as far as I'm aware.
If you look in the owners manual it will confirm this or tell you how to replace the bulb...if it's the HID headlight...which from here it doesn't look like.

does this mean I have to buy the whole light assembly??

is this covered in warranty?

The headlights should be covered at least in the 4 year warranty...depending on when you purchased the vehicle you might be slightly over. Yes, you would need the entire headlight.
However if you have a good relationship with the dealer, they will likely be willing to help you out...if you are over the warranty.

 

Hello, if the warranty is over, then maybe your LED control unit is broken and you need to buy it (2 rectangular covers on the back, fixed with 3 screws). This is one of the possible repair options


UPD To check, you can simply swap the blocks and connect, if the high beam stops working, then the problem is in the block

 

Yes, thank you, that is exactly what i'm doing, i'm waiting for the control unit to arrive from amazon. The warranty is over for me unfortunately. I'm hoping it's just the led control unit and replacing it will fix the problem! Thanks!

 

Well I found the problem. It looks like some critter chewed up this wire. There’s not enough for me to splice it and I’m not skilled enough to do so.

is anyone out there skilled enough to fix this? I’d ship it to you and pay for your services. Please let me know. I’m pretty sure this isn’t covered by warranty.

 

wire was chewed really short, but this doesn't take an electrician im confident you can do it no experience.

Warranty is a likely no, but your insurance may cover it.

 

that’s the problem for me, it’s too short. If it was long enough I would splice it myself. Good call on the insurance, I’m gonna give them a call.

 

Failing insurance coming through, what about trying to purchase the harness? You might be able to order just the portion that goes from the connector to up inside the headlight...just beyond where it's chewed.
