So my Lexi has been in the shop for it's six month checkup, and they are replacing the seat belt tensioner thing, in which the part has to come in. Have been driving a loaner RX 350 around on little errands to Home Depot and Lowes. No sunroof, so that stinks, since I fixed my rubber gasket, I open the shade all the time. The steering wheel, while automatic, does not go all the way perpendicular, which is how I have the GS. No heated or cooled seats, which it got down to the low 50's, and would have been nice to turn on, even in Florida. The worst part, the shiftable automatic transmission. When you punch it, there is a delay, then downshifts, then shifting. I know people make fun of our electric planetary gear transmission, but it is so smooth. There is no jerking when gears are changing. I will never be able to go back to a normal ICE vehicle. Granted, the RX 350 loaner is not loaded, but I miss the spilt screen. The touchpad is better than the mouse, I do admit. Hopefully, I get Lexi back today. Stay safe everyone.

Stay safe.
I miss driving my 450h daily to work since I'm working from home these days. I'm grateful I can even work from home though.

You have a truly base model RX. Panoramic sunroof is an option for the RX, wish my GS had that, most of them have heated/cooled seats, and the larger display with navigation. The driving experience between and suv/crossover is totally different than a mid size sport sedan.
I get my Lexi back tomorrow morning finally. Then I will have my smooth non shifting Planetary gear set back. Hey Peasodos, what do you think of the Porsche Panamera Hybrid? I think I could go for one of those, used of course in like three years for $40k.

You are probably right on the money pit thing. Porsche gets highly rated on the initial quality, but I usually keep my vehicles a long time, so I would rather have long term quality and reliability, than initial. Just seems odd that Toyota/Lexus are one of the few companies without an all EV exciting to drive vehicle. I don't count the Prius, since that is a grandma car. At least Porsche gives you a bigger battery to go along with the twin turbo engine. Imagine a bigger battery with the GSF V-8. Even out the weight and fly down the road. Oh well. I will stick with my 2013 GS 450h for a while.

Toyota is working on solid state battery's, that will have much higher capacity and faster charge times than traditional batteries used in cars now. I thinks that's coming out in the next few years. I think that's when we'll see all electric Lexus that more practical than current Tesla's. Toyota only puts out technology once it's completely developed and thoroughly tested, that's part of the reason it's so reliable long term.Originally Posted by Hues10

Went for groceries after a couple weeks so finally got to drive a bit again. Turned off the circulation system and just enjoyed the silence.
I think when this is all past us, there are going to be many weekend driving trips happening. Just to get out of your house, on the road, and see something different. I feel like time is just passing by and I am standing on the sidelines. Have no future plans to do anything really. It will end and we will all be more appreciative of our cars and lives. Didn't mean to get all sentimental. I want to drive my GS 450H!!!!!!!
