Default Replaced my 07 with a 13.

The wife realized my GS is closing in on 100k miles and said she saw an advertisement for 0% on L/Certified cars. This was at the beginning of October. I had joked about replacing mine but I try not to care about cars too much. I figured if I wanted to do this, I had better do it before she changed her mind and the 0% offer expired.

I looked almost every day, several times a day on cars.com, autotrader.com and the apps. It was hard because I wanted a starfire pearl with flaxen interior. Every one I found was either black, nebula, or silver with black interior. Then one Sat morning I found a new listing on the cars.com app for a white/flaxen with 22k miles and immediately contacted Scanlon Lexus in Fort Myers, FL. I asked for pics and tried to hide my anxiousness. The salesman I worked with was pretty busy but he would send me pics eventually. Mon morning it went to the shop for the inspection/service. It ended up getting new tires, alignment, 30k service. After just a few back and forth texts and emails, we agreed on a decent price which included transport to VA.

A week later all the paper work was signed and everything was set to go. The salesman said the car would be another week but it might get to me earlier if we're lucky. Lucky I was because I got it a few days earlier than expected and it was transported in an enclosed trailer. Unfortunately, it was delivered the same day as my no more kids procedure, lol. My wife was the one to receive it and she picked me up in it. So I wasn't supposed to move around or drive. There was no way I wasn't going to at least drive it around the block.

Anyway here's a pic of it after being delivered.

Installed the spoiler this past weekend. Dremeled the screws off and used extra automotive 3M tape. Also installed the red film over the amber parts of the tails.

I need to figure out how to mount a front plate, and install the LED conversion in the trunk. Tint is scheduled for this Fri. I'm also researching opticoat pro/cquartz sealant and xpel/suntek wraps for the front. So freaking expensive!!!

Congrats and enjoy!

PS - Hopefully you recover quickly from the 'no more kids' procedure...

Does this make you squeamish just thinking about it?

welcome to the club. Nice color combo.

By the way, where did you purchase the Trunk lip from?

Congrats allivant! Welcome to the 4GS hybrid club You're part of a small crowd; there are only a handful of us active on the forums. I'm sure you know that the car itself is quite rare.

I would definitely recommend XPEL to cover the front (unless you want rock chips on the pretty paint!). Also, the LED trunk light mod is a MUST imho.

Btw, what options does your vehicle have? How are you liking it or does it compare to your 07 hybrid? Obviously you're not new to hybrids. Did you have any troubles with your previous vehicle?

Thanks for sharing pictures of your new ride.

All the best,

~ Im2bz2p345

Have you noticed a power difference coming from the 07? I have an 07 now, and I've got the upgrade bug.

the cost of the xpel is torturing me. i don't want to spend that much but i feel like i'm just asking for it driving around naked now, haha. no problems with my 07 except i just replaced the ballasts because the headlights were flickering then just shut off. just sold it yesterday in fact. i had a supercharged 96 4runner(175k) and 03 camry se(135k) before the 07 gs so i'm a big fan of toyota/lexus. never had any problems.

Any of the major clear vinyls will be fine. Sure it's expensive, but it's certainly better than ending up with a damaged bumper, hood, etc.
