It was a tough choice for me as both were the colors I wanted.Just about a flip a coin situation.
My last 3 Lexus models were silver so I went SP and am very happy..
I love and only go with black leather interior.
I went with the SFP with black interior. I was worried about it being too warm in the summer but it's no worse than my other car. Ventilated seats help a bit. I love SFP and the black interior goes nicely with the brush aluminum trim. Originally I wanted SFP with Flaxen but I'm glad I went with black interior in the end. Either will look great though. It's all personal preference.
I have SFP with FLAXEN. I've originally wanted Black / Flaxen but they told me I have to wait 6 months. I've already waited 3 months I am not waiting another 6 months so I went with the Flaxen.
Pros and Cons.
Flaxen = BEAUTIFUL COLOR (my favorite in lexus trims)
Makes the car look CLASSIER than it already is.
I have 2k miles in my baby and my interior is catching dirt and it is visible.
As opposed to BLACK interior would catch less dirt like the Flaxen.
If i had the chance to go back and had a choice of Flaxen vs Black, I will go Flaxen again. This color is a panty dropper.
I personally think the Flaxen looks best with the linear espresso wood instead of the aluminum trim in the F Sport. In an F Sport I would do Cabernet.
But I love the Flaxen. I just spent two hours though removing some weird dye transfer from the passenger seat after my wife got a new wool coat. It was mainly on the bolsters near the console. Very stubborn and odd, but wouldn't be a problem with black. I've had black so often though, the Flaxen is a nice change of pace.
Starfire Pearl wasn't even on my short list of colour choices until I saw one in person. It looks stunning in a way that you wouldn't expect from it just being "white". When I went for a test drive in a Liquid Platinum GS, I was fortunate a customer had a Starfire Pearl GS in the parking lot, so I could compare them directly in the same light. Both are good and show the lines well, but Starfire Pearl was the more appealing colour to me. However I have been driving a silver car for 10+ years and wanted a change, so that was also a factor in deciding to go with SFP. I feel like if I was not bored with silver, either would have been a great choice.
As for interior, I went with black mainly because of what I keep reading about dye transfer and dirt issues with other interior colours. Though I do prefer the look of the all-one-colour interior than the mixture of colours you get if you don't go for black.
But over the two I would choose Liquid Platinum. The white looks sharp in the F sport trim but only when its clean.. The LP I feel would hide more of the dirt.
If you go F Sport, the Liquid Platinum really stands out with the darker wheels and shows off the lines of the car. As someone else said, it has highlights like molten metal. I went with the Cabernet interior and I love it.
Coincidentally I was talking with my son about what color combo I should get if we get another GS... He said
F Sport: Light color (LP>SP) with red interior
Luxury: Black with flaxen.
I too think Flaxen goes better with wood trim. BTW, why not black exterior?
