Rear Door opener switch melted
I would like to know if anybody in here have this problem with
the trunk door opener switch melted on their 2007 400h Lexus. I've call the Lexus's dealer and they want to charge at least $200 for the service, so I thought I would save money and do it myself. The part # is 8484021010. The part only cost between $60 -$75. So for now I'm waiting on a part to arrive, but always welcome if anyone out there already went through this. Please share your knowledge and experiences.

Yes, this is a well known problem and has been noted previously here at CL with a work up on instructions on how to deal with the matter over in the main section for 2nd Generation RX and in the DIY items:

If you do this as soon as it starts to break down you will not have to do much cleaning. I waited too long.
Too bad Lexus doesn't sell just the rubber cover, it would save a lot of money.
