We just joined the Hybrid crowd
We just traded in our gas guzzling Buick Enclaves for 2 of the RX450h vehicles.
I have had many Lexus vehicles in the past (including 1 RX330) and hopefully these will be as good as the previous ones.
My question is do they Hybrids REQUIRE the premium unleaded of is it just a recommendation?

Congrats and welcome to CL. I myself have a 2012 RX450h and according to my Lexus SA it was okay to use 87 octane gas with a 15-20% loss in performance. My owner's manual, however, does say that 91 octane is required.

Congrats on your new rides.
As VVRX said, Lexus manuals say premium is required for the hybrid, unlike the RX350 where that is no longer a requirement. Do a quick search here and you'll see a number of long threads on the subject with pros, cons, and various opinions ... Some owners use premium (like me), and others do not.

John, welcome to C/L. I'm sure you'll find a wealth of info and help here.
Unfortunately some SA's will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale easier. The book say's 91 octane 'required' for a reason. Same thing inside the filler cap too. They lowered it in the regular RX last year but not the (h). You spent a lot of extra to get that one, so ask yourself, does it make sense to try to save two or three bucks a tank and not get the performance and mileage it's capable of ??? You'll have to make your own call. I've had my 2010 for over three years now, burn only 93 (what's available in our area) and since day one I've had 30+mpg. Gas prices go up and down so much I don't think I'd notice the difference anyway .
Send photos when you can. I was out there in Denver early August for my youngest son's wedding. Loved the weather, hot but dry .

Congratulations on your return to Lexus and purchase of the 2 hybrids.
Premium gas is required for optimum performance.
I have also always used premium in my hybrids, and have not been disappointed in performance, gas mileage, and peace of mind knowing I'm using the required gas for optimum performance. The extra $65 to $100, depending on brand of gas, per 10,000 miles, should not be an issue for our premium rides. Don't forget your gas mileage will be far superior to the Enclave's, and much more fun to drive.
Let us know the difference in the 2 hybrids, and also some pictures when you can. Buying a new car is exciting, can only imagine getting 2 at a time.

OK, I will have to have them put a bit in when I take it in for the first service.
I have a dumb question...where is the signature option? I have looked all over and can't find it.
