Brakes that require more hydraulic pressure to stop the vehicle than the stock pads will not assist MG2 in stopping the vehicle as much as the stock pads. Therefore, the generator can theoretically be doing more work than normal when braking and charge the battery more. However, MG2 will only regen for so long....when the battery and/or MG2 get hot, regen braking will stop.

I don't think all that stuff i just wrote contributed much to what you were talking about. Maybe your brakes were grabbing before. who knows. I'm not there to see it.
