Question Dvd video on gs 450h 2007?

i was looking through the forums but couldnt find a answer for my question. i hear the audio when i put a dvd video in my car, but i dont see the picture. the picture button is not highlighted but the normal, wide 1, and wide 2 is highlighted. does this mean i dont have dvd video? cause when i look right underneath where i insert the dvd it says dvd video/audio mp3 wma and etc...

You will not see video while driving. Another feature "Big Brother" Lexus put in to "protect" us. By the way it's also illegal to have video viewable by the driver while the car is in motion.

There are wire hacks and ways around this.

Guys, he's asking why he can't see video. Not why he can't see video while driving.

OP- depress the parking brake (so the (!) icon appears in the dash) and video will appear.

There are, as the others have said, ways around this- do a search to find out.

to further expand what yamanote said, your car should also be in the parked position with the parking brake depressed. this is the only way to watch dvd videos without having dvd bypass.

Are you sure that one has to be in Park to view video?

On my Toyota Mark X with a Toyota Japan navigation system (not factory-fitted, but Toyota-fitted system nonetheless with the same operating system as the 'factory' system) all I have to do is depress the parking brake for the video to show up. That's how I can watch a video while in a traffic jam (no time to do the override yet haha). Looks like a Gen6 system (it has the lighter colored buttons and the Gen6 destination menu layout)

On my Toyota Vellfire with the factory fitted nav system the dealer did the override for me before I even took delivery of the car so can't test there.

Not doubting you or anything but just wondering if there's a difference between the Toyota JP and Lexus system

I can't/couldn't really test on my GS because it 1) didn't have ML so no DVD playback and 2) it's sold

I used it and killed my battery like a dumb grass, good thing the battery didn't need to be replaced.
