Default 2008 gs 450 h

In these unfortunate times I found someone willing to sell there 2008 Lexus GS 450 H for 17K cash. 33K miles. It has not been wrecked and has a clean car fax and title. I'd have to be nuts to not buy this car at this price correct ?

yea it sounds kinda fishy. See if you can meet up with them. Unless you are really good friends with them, then it is most likely a scam.

This is the response I got when I emailed him to if the 17K price was correct.

Hello,

The car is still available for sale. The asking price is $ 17000.
The vehicle is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). It is in great condition, no dents or scratches.
It was always garaged and the regular maintenance was done in time. It wasn't involved in any accident and has never suffered any kind of damage.
Also this is a non-smoker car. If you have any questions regarding the vehicle just let me know!
I can have the car delivered to your address in about 3-4 days or I can deliver it myself.
Since I've purchased this vehicle, my job relocated several times, I bought a house and got engaged.
Unfortunately, too many life changing events have taken place and are forcing me to sell this awesome vehicle and purchase something a little more inline with my new budget.
I don't want to offend you, but the car is priced for a quick sale, so please, if you intend to apply for a loan or financing do not reply to this message!

The guy only lives an hour away so I take it to the Lexus dealer have the car checked out everything is good. Why Not. Getting 18K discount. Car fax is clean.

my simple question is, why sell it to you for 17k, when he can easily trade the car in to dealership for noticeably more?

Carmax will cut you a check for it on the spot. If you can see the car before buying it go for it.

it's possible that the seller is desperate for money and needs to sell quick. as some members have pointed out, it could be a scam, so buyer beware. as long as you stick to your guns and go through the step-by-step process of investigation and confirming all the details, you won't get fleeced. if the seller at any time resists or evades any part of your due diligence, you know he's out to hose you, and that's when you should walk away from the deal. good luck.

The deal stinks. Take down the VIN and license number, go to your local police station and have them run a check on the car.
