There is no interference with the LCD display, and the front passenger can also access it. I'll be able to upgrade to the latest GPS device whenever I want!

In addition, I'm going to attach my Palm Pre Touchstone charger to the flat console tray that replaces the NAV mouse control. I'll just get in the car, drop my phone onto the magnetic Touchstone, and my phone will charge while offering hands-free talk and streaming music!

I'll post a pic of the Touchstone setup too, once installed.
Voila, this really worked out for me! The no-NAV tray is the perfect size for a Palm Touchstone (inductive charger... http://www.palm.com/us/products/acce...echnology.html), which magnetically anchors my Palm Pre. No need to fumble with a mini-USB connector. Now, I have streaming Internet Radio via Bluetooth, while simultaneously charging my Pre! The Pre would probably "fly" off the base in a MVA, but being so low on the center console, would be unlikely to cause a head injury, etc.

I predict future luxury cars will offer similar "built-in" inductive cell phone chargers, once other manufacturers follow Palm's (now HP's) lead!
