Post POLL: How much does your RX400h oil change cost?

And what are you getting with the oil change service? What perks are included? (ie. free loaner, complimentary beverages while waiting, onsite wash, vacuum, & detail, hybrid battery check-up)

I realize this is veering off the specific topic, but does anyone know if and how the Hybrid battery is checked? The only check I could envision would be a draw down test, and I sure doubt they do that.

Default Free oil change

The first 8 oil changes and other service/ fliud checks are free along with tire rotations every 5000 mile. A loaner car is provided if needed, complementary beverages if you are thirsty and wifi computer access if you need it while waiting and TV in the waiting area. Free car wash and vac, and any other checks or work the manual says is needed at that mileage, ie 5k, 10k, 15k,20k, 25k,30k,35k and 40k miles.

Only my first service was free, and now I pay about $35 for oil change and tire rotation. They do throw in a car wash and vacuum. There is always fresh coffee or complementry cold drinks in the lounge. The loaner car is the clincher for me. I drop my car with the valet, sign the authorization for service and by that time the valet is back with the loan car. Pick-up is similar. Time at dealer for service visit is about 10 minutes. I don't go anywhere else to service my Lexus.

Default Yeth! Free service is possible!

I haggled mine prior to signing. Before the ink was dry I was able to receive platinum service until my warranty expires. It helped that the dealership owner was a UCLA Alum. I have no idea what an oil change costs right now. I haven't paid for any of my services to-date!

It all depends on where you buy your car. My dealer is the exception as he gives the first 8 services/oil changes, tire rotations, ect. free. Most dealers don't!

What?!

My father has a 2007 RX400h there...I should check with him to see if he had to go through this kind of rip-off.

That my friend was the short service. The major service at 20,000km (closes to our 15k mi) is 7,800 HK or 1,000 dollars !

You can't take it to someone else either -- they'd nullify your warranty.

Hong Kong .. is a society controlled by big business and collusion with gov't officials designed around a pressure cooker economy based on manipulation of land auctions and condo project approvals.

It would take an American lawyer to initiate a class action lawsuit for price fixing. That would scare them shed-less.

In Hong Kong, the consumer is at war with commerce, except the majority of them just take it w/o complaint. They don't know better.

BTW -- the IS-F just landed not long ago in Hong Kong. I talked to the salesman who wouldn't come clean with what they want to charge for one, but he hinted at > HK$1,200,000 or in excess of US$150,000. I then SMS him an eBay listing for a brand new US version for sticker price of $62,000 with ZERO bids, as we enter into a world-recession .. sighhhhh!

I get my Prius & RX 400h serviced at a local AAA Service Center. It is owned and operated by AAA. I usually pay $27.00 for an oil change and tire rotation for each vehicle. Service is completed in approximately 40 minutes or less. If you go to the AAA website, you can search for a local AAA Service Center (if available) near you. If not there are AAA approved businesses that will give you competitive pricing on maintenance. You do not have to be a member to take advantage of these services but you do of course get a discount if you are a member. I sound like a AAA sales person don't I...
