Correct. I wouldnt either. I guess I didnt get that point across in my earlier post. But that is just not the case here as the Black Opal is drop dead sexy.

 

My LS600hL is to be delivered to me on August 22nd.

As to exterior and interior colors, I had two choices: Yes or No.

I chose yes to a Metallic Mercury with light gray interior. Not my first choice, but I anticipate enjoying the car immensely nonetheless.

Apparently, there are only 4 colors available initially, and no choice of options. All have the premium package II, which is what I wanted.

I'm looking forward to getting back into an LS. Trading in my 2003 LS for my BMW was a mistake. I just had it into the shop for the 5th time (car reported a flat tire when there wasn't one).

Helmar is correct - choice was Yes or No. Humorously, his color combo was my FIRST choice. Mine is mercury metallic with black < my SECOND choice w/ PPII.

 

if your second choice is helmar's first, then i am sure you guys can work something out!

 

Maybe the 10k is the sum of the 6k, 1500 and lojack?? Dealers can certainly add things.

I was at the dealer a few days ago and they had a Smoky Granite
LS600hL in the lot. 115K sticker and SOLD

It looked good, but nowhere as stunning as the Black Opal I saw the
NY Auto Show a couple of years ago. It's Black Opal or bust for me

 

I have yet to see the Black Opal in person but it seems to have that extra special something. I think Truffle Mica is pretty good too.

 

Smoky Granite is a very nice color. But it's been around since October and is very popular. My LS460L is that color and I love it. By now, however, its novelty may have started to wear off whereas Black Opal is still new and exclusive. However, beauty is very often in the eyes of the beholder. I didn't much like the Truffle Mica LS600 when I saw it at the dealership. Looked at it a long while but finally gave it the thumbs down.

 

I do wonder why they showed Truffle Mica LS 460s at US auto shows but decided to offer it only on the LS 600h L here. Also there are more color selections from Lexus Japan. Wish we had some road pictures of the hundreds of LS 600hs that have already been sold there.

 

So they can make a special Launch Edition 600hL & charge a little more for it . Fortunately, we can get the Truffle Mica for the 460 up here, with no 600hL Launch Edition.
I think Japan had the Opaline Pearl since last year, but will be made available for the U.S. market for 2008.

Strangely, Glacier Frost wasn't available in the Japan nor the U.S. market, but was available for the Canadian LS for 2007.
However, Lexus Canada also dropped the Glacier Frost for 2008 (just got that info last weekend), since it seems nobody ordered one, that's the only color for the 460 I've never seen yet in person nor in pics.
