Yes, you read the thread title correctly. Apparently, and quite unexpectedly, I am now #1 at my dealership for a hybrid LS. All the folks ahead of me gave up on waiting and either went for the LS460 or another brand. So my salesman called me yesterday and said a smoky granite mica LS600 showed up on their lot and it had the light gray interior (which I absolutely want). I went to take a look at it, but the smoky granite, while attractive, is just too... plain for such an elegant car.

So I turned it down and whoever's next on the list got a call. Certainly someone with different taste in colors from me is going to be very happy with this unexpected car delivery!

 

If you ordered a Black Opal, that would be the right call, I would have done the same if it was me

I absolutely love the Smoky Granite BTW . . .

 

OK, so you turned down an 600 hL because of the color...got a little worried there

Although I would prefer a black interior, the only choice is the light gray to get the blackwood.
I'm not too happy about lexus for this slim choice

 

Actually the light gray leather interior comes with gray wood, it's not close to black at all :





The Dark Brown Ash Burl that comes with the Alabaster leather shown below is a lot darker than above, it looks close to black in the shade or indoors.




Yes, I wish they would at least allow us to switch the wood/leather color combinations around for factory orders.

 

Right now if I had the choice of an LS 600h L I might go for the Black Opal.

 

I would also go for the Black Opal if I could afford this car

i saw a 600hl at dealership yesterday. blk/blk ls600hl exec package

PERFECT for me and it wasn't taken. too bad i don't have the money 120k msrp, 6k 18" chrome wheels, 1500 tint (yes, you read that right), and lojack.

and then the funny thing is, written in bolt "10,000 mark up"

can they do that?!

Was this a delivery (attempted, I guess) of a non-launch car? In other words, can we confirm that non-launch cars are being delivered?

Which dealership was this?

My dealer is still clueless as to delivery. I can't get an estimate of what month, even.

 

It has to be a non-Launch Edition LS600hL since it's a Smoky Granite, & the Launch Edition is Truffle Mica.

I did use the term "blackwood" loosely, sort of including the graywood and any other non-brown typical wood color

Still, for people who never had black interior or black/gray wood, that's what I want for the next car.

I would have turned down the SGM as well. An exclusive car should be bought in the exclusive color which is Black Opal. Thats the only color I would get the 600h in (and the only Lexus model where its offered).

 

I think Black Opal looks great on the car too in all the pics I've seen, plus the fact that's it's exclusive to the 600hL, makes it an easy choice

I won't go for just exclusivity had they make a yucky or just so-so color exclusive to the 600hL . . .
