Default 400h Wood Trim in Canada

I'm looking at purchasing the 2008 RX 400h. My dealer is telling me that the wood trim is not available in Canada on the RX 400h. Does anyone know why? The US website says it is available on their 400h.

Yep, it's true. I purchased my 400H and imported into Canada this past winter. My dealer where I service it freaks out everytime, "accusing" me of having had the metal parts found on the dash, steering wheel and doors swapped out... everytime I bring my car in for service. LOL

I think the wood interior is a million times nicer than the conventional stainless steel look imho. To each his own, and I am not flaming others but I have always liked the look of quality wood over carbon fibre, simulated wood or steel.

Cheers,

I bought a 07 today and will export to Canada. It has 4K miles. Guy didn't like it. I like wood trim - either of them - as they are both beautiful. Ours is walnut, although I probably like the bird's eye maple better. My wife likes walnut better - it is her car. Canadian prices are out of control.

What about warranties, has anyone had any problems with bringing them to Canada?

no warrenty issues. Same in Can as USA. Even Can salesmen, when honest, admit buying in Canada is totally stupid. Pick up in 10 days. Now pricing replacment of my Acura tsx, although, admittedly, I love this car. Lexus 250 AWD with toys in next agenda item.

Default Everything except...

Warranty is IDENTICAL. I believe the little difference is whether or not the dealer wants to offer the little extra... like offering a loaner car. It is NOT a absolute, but something Lexus Dealers offer. The 1st dealer I took it to offered NO dealer car because I purchased elsewhere. Kinda sucks, so Next Over priced Oil Change I will take it to another dealer, since this made me feel that he didn't appreciate enough by business.

Cheers,

The amazing part is that I honestly do not remembeer seeing wood in the 2007 at my dealer but I just saw a 2007 with a wood steering wheel here in North Jersey

Packages or rather configurations are sometimes region specific. That is to say, that marketing studies will show that in the south west and west coast regions, certain vehicles are ordered and distributed more in one trim level than another. I believe the wood interior is one of those things. That is not to say you cannot get a wood interior RX400H on the east coast, but rather more difficult to find one on a dealer lot, and therefore more difficult to get a dealer to swap out inventory with another dealer.
