Break In
First off, pardon my ignorance if this question has come up before.. I've searched but it did not yield any related results. I would like to ask if there is a break-in requirement on the 400h's? My salesperson told me there was no need to break the vehicle in but I believe otherwise. (don't have a manual btw, which should be here soon hopefully)
BREAK-IN PERIOD
Drive gently and avoid high speeds.
You need not follow a break-in schedule with your new Lexus.
But following a few simple tips for the first 1600 km (1000 miles)
can add to the future economy and long life of your vehicle:
Avoid full throttle acceleration when starting and driving.
Avoid racing the hybrid system.
Try to avoid hard stops during the first 300 km (200 miles).
Do not tow a trailer during the first 800 km (500 miles).

I would also add to an otherwise excellent reply, to change the oil within the first 250 - 500 miles and again at 2500. Lexus really doesn't charge that much, and I would bite my tongue before attempting to get at the factory oil filter again.
My new approach to this problem, will be to have Lexus change the oil at the factory recommended intervals, and in between the next oil changes, I have decided to dump the oil myself and replenish with another fresh 4-5 quarts while leaving the factory oil filter. For those that have changed there oil before on the factory 400h, they can understand the pain and suffering.

Damn, that's one nice looking vette.
Those kinds of lifts are very popular in Europe, where space is a premium.
Would the lift make it easier? Yes. Easier, easier, perhaps. Hehe, go ahead and get baptised.

I have had the lift for almost 10 years so the price may hve changed. I paid a little under $3,500 for it with extras (drip pans and a wheel kit to move it). I have only moved it once in ten years and that was just to try out the wheel kit. The one thing I love about it is that it comes in real handy when you clean and wax the car. The lift is made by Eagle.
