I still don't agree that the 400h wins hand down in passing. Have you driven an RX350? I had the opportunity to drive an RX400h while XM radio was being installed in my RX350. The 400h did not feel any more powerful than the 350 and I did put the pedal down a few times. If anything it felt rougher. The engine and/or cvt felt rougher and louder under heavy throttle as compared to the RX350. Another difference was the springs on the 400h felt a bit stiffer giving it a bit of a stiffer ride.

I would have to disagree with you here. Maybe from a stop light the 350 benefits from having the ICE always on, whereas with the hybrid it takes a second to kick in. However, once the ICE and electric motors get going, the acceleration is much faster imo. Furthermore, if you look at 30-50 and 50-70 times between the 350 and the hybrid, you'll see that the hybrid has a clear advantage. Will the hybrid feel as refined as the 350? Most surely not, but it does rid of the car of the jerkiness you sometimes find in the 330/350. The transmission kickdown could be an adventure at times. I guess you could say both cars are designed differently. Also another thing to keep in mind is the fact that the hybrid is built in Japan entirely. Having owned a 330 and now a hybrid, I could tell you that the build quality is much better on the hybrid. In my personal opinion, the car feels more solid.
