Default disable seat belt chime?

anyone know how to do this on a non nav 400h?

i'm guessing it would be similar to the GS300 but we don't have a start button.

you can do everything the 06 GS can do. when they say press start button once, you put it in ACC mode, if it's start button twice, then put it in ON mode on your ignition key

1) Get into the car w/ ignition off and close the doors
2) Turn on car and Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO display using the ODO/TRIP button (put on odometer, not trip meter), then turn off car again
3) Turn to ON mode (2nd position on ignition switch)
4) Hold the ODO/TRIP button. Wait ten seconds, and while still holding the button, buckle the driver’s seat belt.
5) The LCD displays "Seat Belt Buzzer On/Off". Release the button. Pressing the ODO button toggles the On/Off

Lexuslover,

Thanks for the directions, it worked! No more chime After you start driving, the initial chime when you turn the car on is still there but its not nearly as annoying as the 2nd one.

What other tricks do you know?

LOL what else would you like to know? there are a lot of tips and tricks on this forum (outside the 400h forum). to name a few - you can change your lock settings if you haven't done that (lock at 12mph and unlock at 'P'), you can permanently enable your bluetooth functions while in motion by snipping a wire behind the display unit, you can integrate ipod w/ your factory stereo controls for $299, and/or if you have DVD, you can enable the DVD on your front display while in motion... and last but not least, there is a software hack that can be input each time you drive that allows you or a passenger to input destinations while in motion.

Hi,Lexuslover.Do you know if these tricks apply to UK spec RX400h's?

Could let me know the one for the automatic door locking/unlocking as this would be particularly useful.

Cheers!

i don't know if the UK is diff from the US in that department, but you can take a look at your owners manual. in the US 400h manual, there are the instructions for customizing your lock settings on pg 45. look in your manual index for "door locks".

it's a nice thing to have. i sometimes back out of the garage and then somebody hops in to join me, and the problem is the factory setting would lock the doors as soon as i shifted out of P. now i can back out and have someone open the door without me unlocking. (and then it locks once i reach 12mph, which is in about 5 sec when i leave)
