thats how it is supposed to be... only when it will be fully charged, is when you are going downhill for a while.

Toyota engineers designed it so that the battery pack would stay between 60% - 95% charged. This is for longevity of the battery.

Nope,in 3 months and 4,000 miles I've only ever got it to one bar from the top.It is nice to see the bars go green every so often, though.

I'm still looking for that long downward hill to see if I can charge it all the way up-I'm going to be driving on the continent this summer vacation,so,hopefully on a really long run and also going over mountains,I'll be able to achieve a full quota of green bars

Not that it bothers me or anything

Doh!

Actually,I'm sure I can find a route that's all the way down. That Satnav is a clever piece of kit-that "Down Hill All The Way" option button is a real boon for those of us that love to keep those bars in the green.

well, the odo shows about 22000km and I can say for sure, that the battery has never shown 8/8... it's 7/8 at max.

Default Yes indeed

I have fully charged it many times and I have the car only for three weeks. In the city it doesnt happen. Once I traveled through a huge distance through a lot of traffic and the engine did not have to start. That was pretty cool. On the highway I did not make it to fully charge it but I did make on mountain roads.
