Hi everyone. Going through some old threads about the 12v battery drain issues and noticed this Ionic Emergency Starter that a number of members have posted about.
Here is a link to one of the more expensive sites (available on a number of other sites for about $30 less) but it has the installation manual in the ‘documents’ link so I thought that might be helpful for some people.
I was specifically wondering where and how this would be installed on a 450h+.
Would anyone mind sharing their experience and even some pics or video if you wouldn’t mind?
I am not a ‘car guy’ so messing with the battery and electronics have me wanting to make sure I understand 100% before buying and attempting the install.
Thanks so much in advance!!

I used a small socket to temporarily remove each post nut, looped the respective (+/-) cable on and screwed the bolts back on. 5 minute job. Be sure to charge the unit first tho using a trickle charger (simply clamp the alligator clip to the flat round wire end). Hope this helps!

Thank you! So you installed on the battery itself under the trunk floor then? Did you use Velcro to attach? How is the fit?
Also, did you ha. To disconnect anything to avoid electrical issues or just be careful not to touch the connectors.

There is no need to remove the battery post nuts ... there is enough threaded stud above the factory clamps to add another stainless steel nut to hold down the connectors for the Ionic and also the quick connect wiring harness for my NOCO Genius charger (with the
Yes and yes. No electrical worries. Note: I will remove this before my 5K service to avoid any warranty issue with Lexus. But I'm also getting them to perform a deep battery check as it pretty quickly falls into a "Low Charge" range. I want my concern documented for any future replacement.

Thanks again and sorry for all of the questions!!
The attachment leads from the Ionic are quite long. I installed mine on the floor of the battery compartment.
