I have two 2025 NX350 hybrids. Long term, how worried should I be about corrosion on the rear high voltage cable connection? I live in Southern Ontario, so our winters include lots of slush, snow, and our roads are frequently salted. My Lexus service tech says I should just avoid oil spraying the vehicles and all should be good. I just don't know if that is the best preventative measure I should take.
I have seen advertising for a product called CableWarden, a plastic clamshell that goes over the rear connection and prevents moisture from getting at the connection. This product costs about $370 CAD and can be installed reasonably easily. Does anyone have experience with this product and is it worth doing on my vehicles?
You should have newer version of this connector which is hopefully better made (remains to be seen years later). Messing up with it now will void warranty.
They have service campaign and warranty extension for older cars, 25TD01/25LD01 in the U.S. or LA1 in Canada. Which is basically some goo from a tube to seal it.
