Default 2024 NX350h and oil changes

So I have had my NXh for almost 3 months. I was wondering what is the preferred method for getting oil maintenance done on the vehicle. I just checked the sticker in upper left corner of front windshield and it says 5000miles or 4month. I won't be even half that in a month. So is it better to do the maintenance based on time or mileage?

Exclamation Depends

how do you want me to answer a poll when both are correct answers.

The Lexus recommendation is 12 months or 10,000 miles. While Lexus is very .very conservative is most of their recommendations ( the big discussion topic in particular!)
they are too conservative in this recommendation.

I will do either 5,000 or 6 months whichever comes first. Changing oil and filter is the one item that by far will preserve your engine and increase its longevity significantly.

Most people drive enough that the 5,000 miles is the answer. I am retired an don't drive that much, for example my 2018 Ford Focus RS, which I got in January 2018 only has 27,100 miles on it.

YMMV,

With the amount of miles I drive it looks like time will always come first. So looks like i should get the oil and filter changed every 6 months?

What ever you do, remember:

"Oil is cheap, engines are not"

I change mine very often.

Personally no matter what car I buy and my newest is a 24 nx 350 f sport I make sure my first oil change is 1000 miles. This is to make sure that any metal shavings or flakes come out. My mechanic is a stickler for changing every 3500 miles no matter the car or oil used and he doesn't need the money.
