Last week when I was driving on the highway, I could hear a very high-pitched sound when in an aggressive acceleration. i.e. the engine in high rev. I’m not sure about the rev as I was in normal mode, so it’s not displaying on the dashboard. But the sound made me feel the car is turbo-charged while it is clearly not.
So has anyone had similar experience?
Is it normal or I should be concerned?
I, recently, when the weather was hot (35 celsius) on the highway. 3rd gen, so likely not something 4th gen-specific (the cars share a ton). No ideas what it is/was. 395,000km on the clock.

Right. You reminded me that the weather was hot as well (around 32 Celsius). Maybe next time I’ll put it in sport mode to try it again. From memory, the engine sound in sport mode is low-pitched and consistent no mater how high the rev is.
