whenever I put the car into Park to Drive or after pulling in putting it into Park with the windows down I hear a motorized sound effect is the best way to describe it. Like some motor is being engaged that sounds similar to robot moving sound effect in movies.
Just wondering if anyone knows what is being activated to make that sound? No other car I have owned even other Lexus has made that sound before. I apologize if that sounds vague or ignorant. I understand I am in a car with an engine but its not that sound. Its a very specific motorized sound that occurs.

 

I'm guessing it's the parking brake being applied. If set to automatic, this is when it will happen.

 

Leads me to another question how do you disable the auto parking brake? I have not been able to find that setting.

 

You have to hold the button (bottom right of the steering wheel) for something like 5 seconds with the brake pedal pushed. Do the opposite to re-engage the automatic setting. I forget if it's pull/push or vice-versa but you'll figure it out.

 

Thanks you are right about both the sound is the parking brake, weird it sounds like its coming from the front and not rear. And pressing it does disable it. Thanks for some reason knowing all this made my day.
