ES300h to RX350h
Has anyone here gone from the ES300h to the RX300h and thoughts of whether glad they did it or not. Also does the feeling of the CVT transmission feel the same in both cars and is the RX a softer ride. I am thinking about making the switch as my lease is up on ES.
Take a rest drive. I found that the RX350h was slightly noisier and less smooth than my Avalon Hybrid Limited (same as your ES300h), but not so much as to be objectionable. It stands to reason that this would be the case because the hybrid powertrains are basically the same in both vehicles with the RX350h being heavier and less aerodynamic than the ES300h.
My wife and I had a service loaner 2023 RX350 Luxury while my 2019 ES300h was being serviced. Our other car is a 2017 RX350. The engine noise is on par with the Volvo XC90. The transmission shift logic is superior to our RX350. The 21” tires are harsh over rough pavement and generate a drumming noise in the chassis. Though this is an apples to oranges comparison, the ES300h is quieter, more composed ride, but slower.
