Default Lights Rear led assembly

Question anyone can help out. So i believe ive seen a thread about the rear led lights, believe I saw someone say it would still pass inspection? This dealer is saying no, and wanting to charge $500 parts and labor(yea riight) looking up this read led assembly online I see prices ranging aroun $200-$300, im hesitant to spend that much just in parts. Anyone know of any other solution
Any help
Thanks in advance

I too live in VA and I just passed inspection with some of the rear tail light LEDs burnt out. As long as some light up you will pass inspection. FYI if you are in Alexandria, I went to the Amerigo station on Franconia Road.

Mine were on the driver side, trunk portion of the rear tail lamp. 3 LEDs are burnt out.

I bet you went to Lxxxxsy Lexus in Alexandria. They love to sell stuff you don't need.

I actually order part online for $180 including taxes and shipping, just finished installing it. Attached picture is what it looked like before with burnt out LED.
Oh and went to chantilly pohanka, they swore it was a skilled technician. I said sure but they "dinged" me for bulb on license plate and that LED out. They wanted to charge $53 to change bulb on tags..haha..bulb cost $4

I had the same problem when I bought my HS from CarMax 6 months ago they replaced the tailight free of charge because it was under dealer warranty. I did however change the license plate bulbs over to LED since I know those can be a problem like on my last car, but my last car a jetta was super easy to replace the license plate bulbs. But on the HS it requires your to unfasten the lining from the interior of the trunk lid which was a semi frustrating task but since I replaced with LED I won't have to worry about it hopefully.
