Default P0012 code

My car today read on obdII scanner with P0012. My engine sounds like a loud click or knock when it warm up then quiet. Also it stalled on the highway and I got it towed. I do have oil and now when I start it after the sound the engine dies like no fuel. Any suggestion why this happen? How much to repair?

See this http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/75...one-dealt.html

P0012
Camshaft Camshaft
Position "A" Timing Over-Retarded (Bank1)

That could cause a rough idle. Would also have a lack of preformance/power too though. I would clear that out and see if it comes back. Some of the possible causes are dilluted
oil oil
or a problem in the PCV (OCV) system. I would see if the code returns before changing anything.
Someone else said - sounds like your have a problem with your
camshaft camshaft
timing oil control valve sticking or stuck in the open position replace it and the code should not come back ps i have 18 of these in my fleet with 300,000 miles or more so i have seen this before

It may be under warranty depending....However you should have a shop look at it. Our car has the same engine/drivetrain as the Camry hybrid.

PS: I found all of the above by entering "P0012 code Toyota" into Google
