HS250h iPod implementation
I can't recall if I've ranted about this here before, and if I have I apologise for doing it again, but I really hate the implementation of the iPod facility on our HS250h.
I have an iPod with only about 250 "songs" on it - actually, most of those "songs" are in fact radio plays lasting 45minutes or more - and they're organised into playlists and albums, like most people's collections are. With only five lines (ie, 5 titles) per screen, paging through even a playlist of 40-50 songs is a pain, especially since the system always stops what it's doing and starts playing the item at the top of the list when you're paging through. So if I'm listening to something, and want to select the next item I want to hear, I can't do that while something is playing, otherwise it will stop playing the track I'm listening to and start again from the top. And if the item I want to hear is in the playlist or album at position (say) 36 out of 42, that's an awful lot of scrolling to find it. Add to that the fact that half the system goes "greyed out" while the car is moving, regardless of whether my wife is in the car and could safely use the system (like the phone, another annoying implementation), and the iPod/USB facility is almost unusable.
Does anyone else feel the same about this system? And is it upgradeable? - surely this should all be able to be software controlled these days. I will never buy another Lexus unless they've made considerable changes to this awful system.
