iPod Classic in a 2013 RX350-skipping plays the same song about 2-3 times?

iPod Classic in a 2013 RX350-skipping plays the same song about 2-3 times?
This could be a setting either on the actual iPod or somewhere on the menu for the Lexus.
Anyways, I have a ton of music (23k songs) on an iPod classic. I think I have it set to play random songs from all of the library however for some reason after I set back up my iPad after a refresh it seems to be playing the same song 2-3 times when I hit next to go to the next song instead of finding a new random song to play from the library.
Now before I refreshed my iPod it was working fine as I would skip to the next song and it would randomly find a new different song to play. This is why I beleive it within the settings on the iPod.
I've browsed around and think I've done something right but no luck so far.
Are there any iPod gurus in here that know what may be going on?
