I wonder if the cable plugs in somewhere else instead of the back of the factory stereo. You can see "RX270" is on the canbus unit, but the seller assured me this unit also works for the HS250H.

I think the mystery is solved. The Nth American and Japanese HS250H cars have different infotainment units. The connections on the Japanese unit are in the picture attached and do seem to match the cables I’ve been sent. My car is a Japanese import. I’ll post the results once I’ve installed my android unit.
