Rear dome light bulb LED replacement
Has anyone replaced the rear dome light with a festoon LED equivalent? I've ordered 3 types (2 Chinese, and Philips) and none fit:
Not sure if it's a Lexus thing or if it's an HS250/CT200h thing, but there's not much free play with one of the contacts within the housing. As a result, only festoon bulbs with tapered ends will fit. Taken from 4runner.org
Any ideas or alternatives?

Usually those puny little bulbs don't offer much light for a dome replacement. You need one with lots of lumens.
As you can see, the thin dome light LED from that company uses a festoon type connector. I can't remember if its smooth or pointed on the ends, but I know what you are talking about. It seems like some of the connectors for the festoon bulbs in Japanese cars have those little holes in them that hold the bulb that seem out of line or something, and not all bulbs fit them just right. In that case, I just filed the end until it did fit.

Yeah, I'll most likely just file down the bulb contact then. No problems replacing the festoon bulb with an LED one on a 2007 Corolla and a 2010 Forester, but there was plenty of room to bend the contacts within the housing.
