There is a recall that has to do with the arm (I wish I understood what this really meant but thought I would just ask all of you). My lower knuckle bushing is worn and I need to replace the knuckle and the bearing. Any chance this may have anything to do with the recall ? I ask this only because my car has about 75000 miles on it, which seems to me a little premature to be having this kind of wear and tear. Its a hybrid and I drive it sensibly.

Also, since I'm here and likely will be footing the bill anyway... are there alternative parts that can be use (non OEM I mean?)

I think the recall involves the rear tie rods, and the knuckle bushing you are talking about is on the front. Right?

I bet if you took it in and looked worried, they'd do something. Especially armed with a little information.

Thanks. It appears that the parts are being tooled and they will fix it when they have the parts!!
