Default Stuck Auxiliary Box-Type A

Can't open the box in my HS 250 h. Seems stuck-with my sunglasses inside. Any suggestions on how to open without using a screwdriver and or chisel? Illustration in Owners Manual not sufficient to determine how the latch operates.

It's push to open (rear), but I assume you've been trying that. I just looked at mine, and don't see an alternative way to open it without breaking the latch. So you might cause as much damage as the value of those sunglasses.

so when you push up on the rear of the door, it doesn't open? Does it push up at all? The act of pushing up pushes in a plunger, which draws a latch away from a lip that's molded onto the sunglass holder. If you can push the door in, but it doesn't unlatch, maybe that latch is broken. If it doesn't push up at all, then you might just have a stuck plunger, and maybe push harder. Just to be clear, the latch is on the rear (away from the mirror) of the sunglass holder, not the front.

Go here to look at the manual for the sunglass holder:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hs-...es-lights.html

Sad thing is, you have to get that part open to remove the 2 screws that hold the whole assembly up there in case it's broken and has to be replaced.

Pry it open gently, maybe it won't break.
