Default Ivory leather - staining

My ivory seats are getting stained by my belt. When I talked to the dealer about it, he said it's a common complaint all multiple Lexus models with the Ivory leather - belts, blue jeans, etc. Said Lexus is looking into it, but offered to treat and even re-dye it on my next service visit if needed.

Anyone have experience with this, or had their seat redyed? I'm worried about them screwing up the seats and making it worse.

There is some info on this and the fix . What I read was they paint the leather with spray paint.

I have had the same problem, due to dirt and/or dye transfer from my black belt and jackets.

I've had moderate success cleaning the seats every couple of months with "Leather Master Strong Cleaner". First, I vacuum the seats. Then, I rub the cleaner on with a foam pad, and then use a soft brush (mine's labeled "Swissvax") to firmly scrub in a circular motion for about 20 seconds to loosen the dirt, and then wipe it down with a cotton cloth. It's not perfect, but makes a noticeable difference. I try to clean the seats before they get too dirty to make it easier.

To prevent re-staining, there are various leather protectors. I don't have experience with any yet, but have started trying one from the same company that makes the cleaner I referenced above.

Thanks! So the cleaning doesn't damage the leather? I haven't scrubbed too hard yet - I'm afraid of rubbing off the dye.

I haven't had any problem. The brush I use has fairly soft bristles -- somewhat softer than those of a toothbrush.
