I got my fix today and the dealership did not fill up the gas tank. The receipt shows they charged Lexus for the top off ($30) of my gas so I called back and talked with my service manager and he said yes, the car wash guys were supposed to fill it up. He told me to just come up there the next time I need to fill up.
Due to Toyota recall news, many car owners like me must worry about the car safety and quality. To find a reliable repair shop is very important and necessary. Toyota Dealership Service means professional and stable quality, except its price. As well as dealer workshops in quality, it is worth to select an independent repair shop which owns repair know-how and reliable scan tools. To take models to independent repair shops is my first choice after warranty. Do you have the same comment? If so, how do you select repair shops for your car? Could you share any tips?
Where did everybody hear about the free tank of gas? Is there some kind of official statement about it? When I bring mine in I want to be able to question them if it is not done.

The gas top-off as far as I know, is not policy, but something to mention to the dealer if you don't get it when you bring your car in.
Went in for the recall today. I read about the gas fill-up (thanks gang!) so I brought the car in close to empty, but I didn't request the fill-up. Sure enough, they filled the tank gratis without asking - even showed me the Chevron receipt. Took about 30 minutes.
