Coolant flush
I want to do a turkey baster method of coolant flush - on both tanks.. I got the genuine Toyota Lexus brand antifreeze from Amazon but it is $35 a gallon. Walmart's pink Supertech is $11.83, and O'Reilly's Zerex pink is $19.99. It is ok to siphon off old stuff and add Walmart or O'Reilly's first, then eventually top off with the genuine Toyota brand, somewhat mixed in with the cheaper "inferior" brands, right? How "inferior" could it possibly be even though it's cheaper than the genuine Toyota coolant??
Mixing coolant is a bad idea the chemistries will clash and you'll have a huge problem on your hands spend the extra ~$70 or spend much more later. Pulling coolant out of the reservoirs is a tiny % of total capacity.
So if I wanted to go with the middle price range coolant type, just stick with that same one?
Ps. Although the prices vary greatly among the 3 brands, they are all pink and all of them say that they're compatible with the hs250h...

I've personally seen brutal results from mixing coolant it turned chaulk-ish for lack of a better term there was build up everywhere. If you MUST buy a lower priced coolant remove as much of the old stuff as possible but I don't see the point of trying to save less than $100 it's false value.
I will keep that in mind and avoid mixing coolant! I bought my 2012 hs250h sedan "as-is" in August, (unsure what kind of coolant it initially came with), and then had a local mechanic check everything out and replace fluids. (Unsure still if he used genuine Toyota super long life coolant or not). I guess I will ask him, then go with what he put in. 😉
You'll only do this one every six years... I can't in my mind justify putting cheap coolant if the car is still a nice one.
You can put cheap coolant if it is leaking out somewhere, and you don't expect the car to live much longer.

This video will tell you the right way to change your engine coolant and invertor coolant. He tells you how to put the hybrid engine in diagnostic mode so the engine stays on so you can fill and bleed the coolant system.
However I was lazy and just did the turkey baster method on the invertor, but I only have 105,000 miles.
