Car won't start, trunk locked
Hi all, I'm having trouble with my 2011 hs250h. The car won't start, trunk won't open even with key, I tried to charge from under
the hood and it's showing charged. Valet mode is off. It says to depress break and touch key to power button and that doesn't
work either. Can't seem to figure it out, any help is appreciated. Thank You.

Your 12v battery is likely dead and it is not charged. The key should open the trunk if you are able to move the mechanical lock that has not been used for 13 years. Maybe use some lubricant. A new battery and you should be fine.

Ok thanks for the response, I'll take a look, tried that key once but maybe it's a little frozen up.
Edit: Got the trunk open with the key, older car, so it was difficult to turn. I tried jumping with another car, directly to the battery in the trunk, and still nothing, except for the power button turning green, which it has done all along, and it saying no key detected and then says depress brake, hold key fob up to power button and push. Tried this with both key fobs and doesn't do anything. Maybe the battery is so bad it won't take a charge ? When I first tried starting it, everything on the dash flashed, but thats not happening anymore.

How are your key fob batteries? The car asking you to place it next to the start button is a sign the fob has a dead battery.
Do you have gas? When was it last driven before this problem?
The battery in these is a dealer only item, although Batteries Plus may have something.

If that issue continues after replacing the 12 volt battery, (which is the first thing you need to do after getting a fob battery as your fob is not creating the problem lights after it starts)
It is probably time to find an independent hybrid repair shop to get it checked out.
Or at least have a chain Auto parts store check for stored codes as I suspect something else may be going on than just the 12 volt battery.
You hybrid battery or system may have issues.
