Do I buy warranty?
Hello everyone, hope all is well. I am going to pick up my luxury plus 550 today and I am super excited. Unfortunately the dealer put a roof rack on it which I hear is quite loud. Does anyone have some experience with this or is it just your average noise from a roof rack?
My main question for everyone is do I buy any warranty options? I was considering the wheel and tire because I will not be the only person driving the GX as I have a GS I love very much. I am wondering if it is worth it though as it might be cheaper to have the rim repaired or just replaced of something we’re to happen. Additionally I was curious if anyone would recommend any service plans or extendeded warranties considering it is a new drivetrain and platform for Lexus and Toyota?
Thnaks so much in advance for the advise and insight!

I skipped all of those extended warranty packages on my prem+ purchase and I feel totally fine without it. My previous Lexus was 12+ years old, no issues and I did all maintenance on it. But again I think it is a personal choice. Dealerships push to sell them obviously as it benefits them more than the buyer.
Bought a Luxury a few weeks ago and got pressed hard at the point of sale to buy the service package and wheel package. Here are some facts:
1) I was told I must buy the service package at sale if I want it - FALSE. I ChatGPT’d it on the spot, found a link to the Lexus website where it showed that i had until 18k miles to buy it. When I confronted the finance manager he said he “just tells me what they tell him.” I told him to go back research it and tell me why I’m wrong so I can buy it if I have to - he didn’t come back to try and explain why I was wrong.
2) The sales person tried to get me to buy the wheel package saying if I run into a curb and scrape the wheels or bust a tire it would cover it and that the wheels are expensive. He said I would be the first customer of his to not buy it. Having just had the finance manager misrepresent the service plan, I asked for the fine print. I scanned it in and asked AI a couple of questions the first of which was “will this cover my wheels and tires if I run into a curb” and it pointed me to the exact language showing that such damage would not be covered under it. In fact, the wheel plan pretty much says something along the lines of it needing to be a hazard in the middle of the road like a tree limb or pothole. IMO the liklihood of triggering damage that way to an SUV’s wheels are minimal (tires, maybe but also a longshot).
