Default Dash Power and Nav dropping out intermitt

My wife's 2013 Lexus GX460 -- a very reliable car to date -- has presented with a very strange problem that has us and the dealer stumped so far. In the past few weeks, the GX460 has had the headlights, nav and dash all drop out as in go dark for about a second, and then come back up. No loss of power in the engine or brakes or anything associated with actually driving/powering the vehicle. But then, wife tells me the Nav display then will struggle to repower up on and off. (I haven’t been in the car when any of this happens). This same combination of events happened about 4 - 5 times over the last two weeks, and again this morning, out of the blue. The dealer had it for the 3 or 4 days last week and said 1) they haven't been able to replicate it (of course) and 2) they have checked everything they can think of and can’t find anything wrong. It's back there this morning after recurring but I'm not real confident they'll figure it out.

Has anyone experienced this or something like it and know of the culprit and/or solution???

First I’ve seen of this

must be some power module they all tie into

i wonder if it might be a bad BCM?

Acrad: Is it possible to use a laptop with Techstream to monitor the system with daily driving to catch the fault? With the dealer involved and “stumped” I guess no codes were thrown on the GX system.

I don't see why not..although I haven't tested it. I know when you tell it to do a global diagnosis it will put the Nav in mine into diagnostic mode but we would be targeting a specific area so probably not an issue.

I'll check it out this weekend or sooner if I get some time. I'm gonna review some wiring diagrams as well.

So far just speculation but lots of roads leading back to the BCM in the wiring diagrams.

There are two BCMS one for GX with Driver Support Package and one without... ironically this is one of the things that probably needs to be swapped if one wants to add crawl control to their GX.

Not saying this is it but might be... here are some cost examples:

BCM without Driver Support Package

BCM with Driver Support Package
