2011 Lexus GS460 Premium - 63k miles, CPO for $35k
Hi All - I am planning to buy my first Lexus and i was looking at a 2011 GX 460 Premium with - 63k miles, CPO for $35k
Is this a good deal? The vehicle is CPO from Lexus dealer and 2 year unlimited warranty with 4 maintenance services included.
The vehicle has the luxury package with all the bells and whistles. Would you buy this? if not why or what would be a good price?
Thanks in advance,
Ash

"2 year unlimited warranty" , I would confirm this and check the history. The inevitable secondary pump malfunction has already been replaced or is soon to happen. Price wise, seems okay, but not great.
I haven't checked on the price for that model so I'm not sure. It is a CPO from a Lexus dealer so it will be several $$$ over other buying options. The warranty is a nice touch with the expense though.

Thanks Tecman.
I will keep that in mind.
Also, i have been hearing about the vehicle shaking at highway speeds issue. Is that a widespread problem? Or is it just with a few vehicles? I did find the test ride a bit shaky at around 60 mph.

I am pretty sure the OP meant a 2011 GX 460, and not GS 460 (the sedan). With that said, the price for the trim level and mileage-wise seems about right to me. The L Certified program is pretty comprehensive for secondary owners. That should give you a piece of mind. As you can already tell by the CPO asking price, these vehicles hold their values very well. They last a very long time too! And as a first Lexus, you won't be disappointed, as long as you understand the nature of a body-on-frame SUV.

A Road Force alignment by the dealer should fix that. I had a similar issue when I purchased mine. Keep in mind that it could also mean a number of other things, such as a wrapped rotor, but I highly doubt that since it's a CPO vehicle.

Are you aware of the secondary pump issue that Tecman spoke about? Shall i bring that up as an issue upfront while speaking to the dealership?
Thanks again.

Ash,
It's not a steal IMO, I'd call it "fully priced".
Yes, the new CPO program, as of Jan 5th, is 2 years with no mileage limit. If the Lexus in question is still within the 4/50 then it becomes balance of 6 year/unlimited miles.
Lexus is also picking up services every 5k for the first 2 years or 20K miles.

I am looking at this and an AWD - F-Sport RX 350(CPO). Fingers crossed!

You're unlikely to run into many expensive issues before the warranty runs out. As for price, I paid several thousand less for a similar vehicle (about $31K) but it was no longer a CPO.
As a quick correction, with the 2011 you wouldn't have a "luxury" package. It may be a premium, which is the upper level trim for the 2010-2013 models, but the luxury trim did not come until later.
Edit: I'm assuming you're looking at the white one in Lakeway, which is a premium model. It's a single owner but the Carfax doesn't show any repairs for the secondary air intake (doesn't mean it hasn't had it). That's probably your main concern maintenance-wise, but there are also some steps you can take to lower your risk. Overall though that one looks to be in pretty nice condition and having the tonneau cover is nice because it's like $300 to buy it separately.

I wasn't trying to give the impression that it would be expensive to maintain, only bringing your attention to a semi-common issue. Compared to its competitors, the GX should be less expensive overall to maintain.
