Default CPO vs non CPO

Hello again,
Just another quick question to you guys as I am getting closer to making a decision. I am torn between a blue 2011 LS460 sport with 40K miles for 33K (is CPO'd currently but the CPO will be voided once if I purchased it) or a white 2012 LS460 sport with 40K miles for 39K CPO car from a Lexus dealer. Both cars have same options. Is it worth it form me to spend the extra 6K?

The 2011 seems to be the better value.

You can try negotiating and the '12 CPO do have a warranty. Or you can purchase a extended warranty on the '11 for a lot less than $6000.

Save the money, you'd never rack up $6,000 in repairs anyway. Plus I see CPO as more of a marketing gimmick. I know that they inspect both cars before selling them because they still have their reputation on line. I wouldn't think anything of buying a non CPO Lexus from a Lexus dealer. You can always request to see the carfax and service records for your piece of mind an 6k in yo pocket!!!

If the 2011 is still under some sort of warranty through Lexus, you should be able to get a new warranty from them. Just ask. But as others have said, you should expect to pay a lot less than $6k

If you don't mind the blue, the 2011 seems like the right way to go. As others have said, if you're concerned about insurance, see what it would cost to extend the warranty. Depending on the month the car was born, will determine if you have any regular warranty remaining.

You make a lot of sense. This car seems to be really well maintained since it's still under CPO. I am getting it inspected next week. Thanks for the feedback.

I prefer the blue to the white. First choice would be black but blue is close enough...

Bought my 08 LS with 58 K miles almost 15 months ago.
Control arm bushings were replaced at 66,877 miles (6/24/2015) - $ 4363.58
Brake actuator replaced today at 74,375 miles - $ 3153.23
I'm glad I bought a CPO LS. I even bought an extended warranty so I'm good for another 57 months/125 K miles.

I think you will be okay with the CA bushings.
I believe Lexus installed better CA bushings on 2011 LS.

Wow that is expensive! So you think I should go with the CPO 2012?

They seem firm at 39K.

For me, it's peace of mind,
You're not really spending $6K for the CPO warranty.
Research the used price difference between the '11 and '12 model LS and go from there.

Good point. Auction price on average is 29k for the 2011 and 36K for the 2012, both with 40k miles.
