Lexus/Toyota implementation of the AHB is really odd. It works, but not well. I have it on my 2022 GX460 and use it, but its weakness is apparent, especially when you have experience with AHB implementations that work well. We had a 2020 Porsche Cayenne S with AHB and it was flawless. And it faded the high beams on and off, not like a binary switch on the GX. Yes, this is not a well implemented feature, but I still find it useful. It is not refined like other German auto maker implementations.
I love the AHB on my 2022 GX but I have never had it on any other automobile before. I thought it worked well on my trip out West last year. Did nighttime driving in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Pueblo, Denver and Albuquerque. You can always use the manual method of high beam low beam, but I set my headlights on Auto and let it do its thing.
The sensitivity of AHB can be adjusted. I turned mine to one notch up from the default, and that seemed to get it closer to how I would use high beams manually.
