Car locks itself?! WTF?
Welcome to the "Nanny Insanity" ... We are all morons, so need a Toyota Committee to facilitate our lives. This is an awesome feature ... especially when traveling on vacation far from home ... far from any spare keys to gain access. What do you mean you don't have Lexus Enform ? ... so Lexus can remotely unlock ? ... and this assumes this (ripoff) service has not been deemed obsolete with the sunset of 3G service by the Wireless carriers.

Do you happen to have one of the auto power folding mirror OBD modules?
I had mine lock on me at a gas station years back with key in center open cupholder. Fortunately I had sunroof tilted and combing the gas station parking lot found an old clothes hanger. I was able to hit the unlock button on the FOB through the sunroof after I unwound the hanger.

What I love is driving down the road late at night ... and the car in front of me is absolute darkness in the rear ... driver has Daytime-Running-Lights where the dash also lights up ... so here they are thinking all is good, but asking to die in a rear-end collision ... all because the "Nanny Designers" did not consider this scenario. F'd up in my opinion.

One of the first things I did was get the metal key copied. Then place the key in a ziploc then one of those magnetic key holders. Then put it under the vehicle somewhere.
Now you’ll never get locked out again.

I also put an extra fob with 2 spare batteries inside the truck after I got locked out.

Don't these OBDII modules auto-lock the doors after some time as a feature? I've never tested it with one of my key fobs inside the truck. Perhaps I should do that tonight. I mean, the fob never leaves my pocket when I drive my GX but you never know. In my daily beater '18 Camry, I keep one fob keyringed to my wallet while the other is used for driving. I locked myself out once and I almost destroyed the driver side glass just so I can go home. I was so tired of waiting for the locksmith.
Aside from the on & drive auto-lock functions... Only time auto-lock happens (outside of running) is if you hit open on FOB but don't open the door after period of time
I think mine perhaps was an open door followed by hitting unlock switch and closing door. I can't remember events now that led up to my issue. It hasn't reoccurred.
