Nicely done and the kit is getting better.

Personally I do not like the "extra" volume and search/tune wheels you will end up with. OEM are nice and easy to use, not a big deal but enough for me not to choose this kit.
Do like they changed to digital clock instead of that analog, did not fit the GX

Hope they make additional changes to unit to be even more like OEM 2022 setup.

May want to mention that in the first post itself. Was very confused seeing the first few replies mention an analog clock that wasn’t in the video/screenshots.

No SiriusXM in this stereo. It does not use OEM GPS antenna or Mic or Camera or...... It might look cool but I'm going to wait and let others be the test subjects.

Not sure those disqualify it for me. Sirius/XM is just not something I use despite the 1,472 emails, letters and offers they have sent me. Factory NAV is worthless. The camera is the only thing I need to know more on. Much prefer factory cameras and factory camera mounts. No need for aftermarket camera or mic if they exist from factory.

GXBob - any feedback on the camera or mic situation?

From the past experiences when I tried those Tesla style unit, which essentially the same cpu and concept setup. The factory reverse camera should be integrated since the camera signal is from the main harness. If that unit didn’t do that, that would be a serious problem. As far as mic for hand free calls, you will have install the aftermarket mic because the OEM Bluetooth is no longer functional with those setup. IMHO, those units and concept mainly creates cosmetic and visual appearance, it creates more problem than good user experience. BeatSonic or Lsalit solution or other similar are more practical if CarPlay and Android auto are things that you want to add on.

The mic for bluetooth doesn't work? and are you referring to the standard back up camera or the 360 camera option?

Those are deal breakers for me, I use my phone and back up camera way too much to give up that functionality.

What exactly did you do and/or fix? I'm struggling on my install right now. Hoping you can provide some depth. Also can you provide a breakdown of how you got to the page where you selected canbox with original cd??

As of right now, my factory backup camera does not work, and my airbag light is on. If I can get help fixing those issues, I'd be happy to provide a detailed report on my install and experience with the Carlink product.

Default Any update here?

The HVAC interface upgrade this new 12” unit provides over the other CarPlay devices that retain the factory screen and HVAC interface make it worth the money for me. If it works as well as it does in GXBob’s video that would be great.

Hello,

I recently ordered and received the 128GB storage, 8GB RAM Lexus GX460 (2010–2021) CarPlay Multimedia system for my car, a 2014 GCC spec with four cameras. After installation, I noticed that none of the cameras are working—there’s no signal coming through.

During the installation process, Carlinklife provided great support. They advised connecting the blue connector from the 360 decoding box to the white connector of the OEM system. Though it was a bit challenging, I managed to make it work with some modifications. However, when checking

other installation videos, I noticed that most people connect the blue connector from the 360 decoding box to the blue connector of the OEM system, not the white one.

I haven’t tried this yet. Could anyone advise if this might be the solution or if there are other troubleshooting steps I should consider to resolve the camera signal issue?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

I installed a CarLinkLife in my 2020 GX460 with the ML system (replaced with better equipment), and it has too many problems to be acceptable, including:
  • The truck no longer remote starts from the key fob, nor from the active Enform App on my samsung phone. Lock/unlock still work fine, but I want my remotes start back, which I pay for!
  • The track +/- control on the steering wheel works fine, but the volume +/- control does not work on the steering wheel.
  • I listen to music exclusively via bluetooth/spotify, which works great, when it works. About half the time I start the truck and drive off, there are brief cuts in the music, like 1/10th a second of silence, that randomly occurs, cutting out about every 5, 10, or 20 seconds. It will do this for 5 or 10 minutes, then play without interruption, then return again. This is a deal breaker. I've installed several Android head units with custom speaker systems, and only CLL has this problem with bluetooth music streaming.
  • My unit was shipped from China with metric units set for temperature and mileage. I asked CLL how to change these units to imperial, and the tech replied that I basically have to completely remove the unit from the dash, remove the A/C ducts, and unplug most of the connections, in order to access a card slot on the back of the unit. When I replied that I absolutely won't uninstall my work in order for the unit to show MPH/F instead of KPH/C, and then asked if the external SD card slot can be used to correct the units, I stopped receiving email replies.
  • After initial support replies from CLL, "Andy" stopped replying to my latest emails regarding outstanding issues with the unit, which we had discussed. He said he'd ask "engineering" for help, but there's been no reply from CLL in 2 months.
I'm now looking into a Hamilton unit, to see if they guarantee their features, units are correct, and if they also have optical-out for the audio (I installed a fully custom sound system).
I'm burnt and disappointed from dealing with a China manufacturer, CarLilnkLife, who failed to support their problematic product.

We have a positive feedback from our Lexus GX user base on our GROM VLine VL2 system. For 2014-2021 you need LEX78TVL2 model of VLine VL2 system, available here:
https://gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-lex78t.html

Our products come with 18-month warranty and 45-days money back guarantee.

You can watche the install video here:

It has been done on Toyota Land Cruiser, however the install steps are the same for Lexus GX.

Demo video:

We also will have a group order starting March 26th that you can join. More info is available here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...l#post12048444

GROM VLine VL2 system will work with the custom sound as long as the vehicle has original car stereo.

Default Loss of aux jack is a deal breaker

I have looked into this from three different vendors and every one of them needs to use the Aux plug for the unit. This makes the Aux plug basically go away. This is a no go for me as I have the Mark Levinson system and use the Aux plug to run and external dac that takes this sound system to a level no one can believe once they hear it. Yes all the CarPlay option and additional screen function would be great, but nothing these units can do will have me give up my Aux plug and my external dac!

We also love high-quality sound! Our next development is the Amplinq sound upgrade system!
As for the AUX, you still can get the AUX function via VLine VL2 using the RCA and AUX cable VAUX:
